Constitution Day in Nepal is celebrated annually on September 19. It is one of the main national holidays of the country, dedicated to the promulgation of the new constitution in 2015, which defined the modern structure of the state.

History of the holiday
After decades of political crises, monarchy, and transitional periods, Nepal became a republic in 2008. It took the country several years to create a new fundamental law that would establish a federal system and democratic principles.
On September 20, 2015, the President of Nepal Ram Baran Yadav signed the new constitution, which became a major milestone in the country’s history.
