Army Day of Armenia is celebrated on January 28 and is an important national holiday dedicated to the creation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

The Army of Armenia was formed in 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, when Armenia gained independence. The first military formations were created on the basis of the Soviet troops stationed on the territory of Armenia.

Rites and Traditions
Festive events. On this day, parades, military ceremonies and solemn events are held throughout the country. Army units demonstrate their readiness and capabilities by participating in demonstration performances.

Memorable events. An important aspect of the holiday is the memory of soldiers and heroes who gave their lives for the independence and defense of the homeland. Flowers are laid at monuments and memorials dedicated to fallen soldiers.

Patriotic events. Schools and educational institutions organize events aimed at instilling patriotism in young people. Lectures, meetings with veterans and military personnel are often held.
