День памяти Радужного моста
August 28, Thursday

History
The holiday was created in 2015 by writer Deb Barnes, author of a book about living with cats. The idea of the holiday is based on the popular poem "Rainbow Bridge," which tells that after death, animals go to a beautiful place beyond the Rainbow Bridge and wait there for their owners to meet them again someday.
Traditions and celebration
On this day, people around the world:
* share photos and memories of their pets on social media
* create memorial albums or memory corners at home
* light candles in honor of departed animals
* spend time with current pets, giving them extra care and attention
Criticism and discussion
Although the holiday is generally heartfelt and positive, some criticism exists:
* some feel that such days are overly commercialized
* some people believe that memories of loss can cause unnecessary sadness and do not help move forward
Current significance
Today, Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day has become a symbol of love and respect for pets. It unites people who have experienced loss, helps find support in the community, and reminds of the important role animals play in human life.
