Republika Srpska Day is a national holiday observed on January 9 in Republika Srpska, one of the two political entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The day marks the anniversary of the proclamation of Republika Srpska in 1992. On January 9, 1992, Republika Srpska declared its independence, following complex political and ethnic conflicts in the region.

Traditions and Celebrations
Official Events. On this day, official ceremonies are held, attended by government officials, military and public figures. The program may include ceremonial speeches, laying flowers at monuments and memorials.

Parades. In large cities, such as Banja Luka, military parades and cultural events are held, where the achievements of Republika Srpska and its historical heritage are displayed.
