National Awakening Day

Bulgaria's National Awakening Day is celebrated annually on 1 November in remembrance of the Bulgarian visionaries and scholars that helped change the nation's history. The holiday became official in 1922 but like many other national holidays, it was suspended when Bulgaria was under Soviet rule.
