World Logic Day

World Logic Day is celebrated annually on January 14. This day was established by UNESCO in collaboration with the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH) to raise awareness of the importance of logic in everyday life and science. It was first celebrated in 2019, and since then it has become an international platform for discussing and popularizing logic as a discipline.

The date of January 14 was not chosen by chance. It was on this day:

In 1901, Alfred North Whitehead, one of the greatest British philosophers and logicians, co-author of the famous work Principia Mathematica, died. In 1978, Kurt Gödel, an Austrian-American logician and mathematician known for his incompleteness theorems, which had a huge impact on mathematics and philosophy, died.
