Fashion Revolution Day

Fashion Revolution Day is celebrated on 24 April and is an international event designed to highlight ethical and sustainable practices in the fashion industry. The day was established following the tragic Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh in 2013, when a building housing textile factories collapsed, killing over 1,100 people, mostly workers producing clothes for Western brands.

Goals and Objectives
Raising awareness. Fashion Revolution Day aims to raise awareness among consumers and brands about the consequences of mass clothing production, such as labour exploitation, pollution and lack of transparency in supply chains.

Transparency in the fashion industry. One of the main slogans of the event is "Who made my clothes?", encouraging people and brands to think about where their clothes come from, who makes them and under what conditions.

Drive change. Fashion Revolution Day also aims to encourage fashion brands to be transparent about their production processes, improve working conditions and use eco-friendly materials.

Supporting Sustainable Fashion: Events on the day highlight the importance of sustainable fashion, which includes using eco-friendly materials, improving working conditions and reducing resource consumption.
