European Researchers' Night
September 26, Friday

History of the holiday
European Researchers' Night was initiated by the European Commission in 2005 as part of the "Science and Society" program. Its main goal is to showcase scientific achievements in an accessible way, demonstrate the work of researchers, and inspire young people to pursue a career in science. Since then, the event has expanded annually, covering more and more cities and countries.
How the holiday is celebrated
* Science shows and experiments: interactive demonstrations are held where participants can personally observe scientific phenomena.
* Lectures and workshops: scientists and researchers share their knowledge with visitors of all ages.
* Exhibitions of scientific projects: innovative developments, new technologies, and scientific achievements are showcased.
* Evening tours and laboratory visits: laboratories, research centers, and universities are opened for the public to see the work of scientists from the inside.
* Contests and quests for children and teenagers: aimed at engaging young people in scientific activities through games and experiments.
Significance of the holiday
European Researchers' Night contributes to increasing scientific literacy among the population, stimulates interest in scientific careers, and helps establish interaction between society and the research community.
