History of the holiday
Press Day was established in Belarus in 1995. This date was not chosen by chance, since in 1812, on May 5, the first issue of the Severnaya Pchela newspaper was published - one of the first official publications that played an important role in the development of domestic journalism and printed products. Since then, this day has become a symbol of respect for the work of workers in the printing industry.
Events and traditions
Conferences and seminars. On Press Day in Belarus, various professional events are often held, such as seminars, conferences and exhibitions dedicated to modern trends in publishing and journalism.
Awards and ceremonies. On this day, journalists and media workers can receive state awards and honorary titles for achievements in their profession.
