Young Combatant Day in Chile is a day that is celebrated annually on March 29. This day is dedicated to the memory of those who fought for rights and freedoms in Chile during the dictatorship, as well as those who lost their lives or suffered as a result of repression.

History
The day was established in memory of two young men, Raúl Pere and Faustino González, who died in 1985 during the brutal struggle against the military junta led by Augusto Pinochet. The two were students who took part in protests against the dictatorship. On March 29, 1985, they died in a clash with the police. Since then, this day has become a day of remembrance for all young people who suffered or died in the struggle for democracy and freedom.

Traditions
Rallies and demonstrations. On this day, rallies and memorial events are held throughout the country, organized by human rights organizations and youth groups.

Silent marches. Sometimes silent marches are held in memory of the victims.

Publications and discussions. Articles and videos are often published in the media and on public platforms, telling about the fight against the dictatorship, about young heroes who sacrificed their lives for a better future for the country.
