Qingming, also known as the Festival of Cleanliness and Clarity or All Souls' Day, is one of the most important traditional festivals in China, celebrated annually around April 4 or 5. Qingming has deep roots in Chinese culture and symbolizes respect for ancestors, as well as a connection with nature and harmony with the world around us.

Qingming Traditions
Visiting Ancestral Graves. Families visit cemeteries to clean graves, make offerings, and light incense. These actions symbolize respect and remembrance of ancestors.

Offerings and Rituals. Food, paper money, and other ritual items are left at graves and burned so that ancestors can use them in the afterlife.

Nature Walks. Qingming is also associated with the beginning of spring. People go out into nature to enjoy the clean air, flowers, and greenery.

Traditional Games. One popular activity is kite flying. These kites are released into the sky as a symbol of sending good wishes.

Traditional Food
Qingming is often accompanied by Qingtuan, green rice balls filled with a sweet filling of beans or other ingredients. They symbolize spring renewal and a connection with nature.
