National Senior Health & Fitness Day is celebrated annually in the United States on the last Wednesday in May. It is the country’s largest event dedicated to the health and active lifestyle of older adults, with over 100,000 participants across more than 1,000 locations nationwide.

History of the Holiday
The holiday was established in 1993 by the Mature Market Resource Center (MMRC) to encourage physical activity and healthy living among older adults. Since then, it has become an annual event that brings together various organizations, such as senior centers, healthcare facilities, fitness clubs, and others, to organize events aimed at improving the health and well-being of the older generation.

Goals and Objectives
The main goals of National Senior Health & Fitness Day include:
