Bright Monday, also known as Easter Monday, is the first day of Bright Week, the week that begins after the celebration of Easter. This day is considered a continuation of the great holiday of the Resurrection of Christ and symbolizes the joy of life, victory over death and the beginning of a new spiritual era.

The Meaning of Bright Monday
Continuation of Easter. Bright Monday, like the entire Bright Week, is a continuation of the joyful celebration of Easter. This day recalls the miracle of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal life through victory over sin and death.
A symbol of joy and renewal. Bright Monday, like the entire week after Easter, is filled with spiritual joy, light and grace. This is a time for thanksgiving, communication with family and maintaining a joyful mood.
Festive worship. On this day, as on Easter, solemn services continue in churches that glorify the Resurrection of Christ. Services on Bright Monday are especially festive, and churches often sing hymns calling for joy.

Bright Monday Traditions
Church services. On Bright Monday, solemn liturgies are held in Orthodox churches. All services on this day are filled with Easter hymns, and Easter exclamations are repeated: "Christ is risen!" - "He is risen indeed!"
Religious procession. In many churches, religious processions are held around the church or along the streets with Easter icons and banners. This rite symbolizes the blessing of the whole world with the light of Christ's Resurrection.
Festive meals. Families continue Easter meals, sharing Easter cakes and painted eggs, symbolizing renewal and resurrection.
Visiting relatives and friends. Bright Monday is a time for visits and communication with loved ones. On this day, it is customary to visit each other, congratulate each other on Easter and exchange gifts, in particular painted eggs.
