Andalusia Day is celebrated annually on February 28 and is a regional holiday in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The day celebrates the cultural heritage, history and achievements of Andalusia, one of the most famous and distinctive regions of Spain. The holiday was established in memory of the referendum held on February 28, 1980, in which the people of Andalusia voted to gain autonomy, making this day an important date for the region.
