Remembrance Day of the Foreign Participants of the French Resistance is celebrated in France on February 21. This day is dedicated to the memory and respect of those foreign fighters who participated in the Resistance movement during World War II.

History
During the occupation of France by the Nazi troops, many foreigners, including refugees and émigrés, joined the Resistance movement to fight against the fascist regime and restore the freedom of their country. Their actions were an important contribution to the overall success of the Resistance movement, and many of them showed incredible courage and dedication.

How the holiday is celebrated
Remembrance ceremonies. On this day, official ceremonies are held in which wreaths are laid at monuments and memorials dedicated to Resistance participants.

Educational events. Schools and educational institutions can organize lectures, exhibitions and other events aimed at raising awareness of the role of foreign fighters in the Resistance.

Cultural events. Some cities may host theatre productions, film screenings or literary evenings dedicated to the history of the Resistance and its heroes.
