World Tuna Day is celebrated annually on May 2 and was officially adopted by the UN in 2016. This day aims to raise awareness of the importance of tuna for the world's ocean ecosystems, as well as the importance of sustainable management of its fisheries to ensure food security and the conservation of marine resources.

How is World Tuna Day celebrated
Information campaigns. On this day, various events are held to inform people about the problems of overfishing and the need to preserve tuna populations.

Scientific conferences and meetings. Experts, fishermen and environmental organizations meet to discuss current issues in the field of fisheries and share successful practices in sustainable resource management.

Activities for the general public. In some countries, special promotions, tastings and events dedicated to tuna are held, as well as educational programs aimed at raising awareness of the importance of sustainable fish consumption.
