Match Day is an unusual holiday, usually celebrated on March 2, dedicated to one of the simplest but most important inventions in human history – the match. This day allows us to remember the role matches have played in everyday life and in the development of technology.

Traditions and ways of celebrating
Educational activities. Schools can conduct lessons on the history and principles of matches, telling children about their importance and safety.

Creative activities. Match Day is a good opportunity for creative activities, such as making crafts from matches, drawing pictures or writing poems on this topic.

Lectures on fire safety. This day is also a good opportunity to conduct lectures on fire safety and the correct use of matches and other fire sources.

Exhibitions. Some countries host exhibitions dedicated to collectible matchboxes or antique matches.
