History and Significance

Goddess Saraswati is considered the patroness of pupils, students, musicians and artists. She is worshiped in the hope of gaining knowledge and creativity.

Traditions and Customs

Clothing: Traditionally, people wear yellow or gold clothes as the color symbolizes spring and joy. Women often wear yellow saris.

Regional Traditions: The celebration of Vasant Panchami may vary from region to region. For example, in some parts of India, such as West Bengal, this day is also celebrated as the beginning of the spring harvest and rice harvesting time occurs on this day.
