Liberation of Dohuk Day is an important commemoration day in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, specifically in Dohuk Governorate. The day commemorates the liberation of Dohuk from the control of the Iraqi central government and the establishment of Kurdish autonomy in the region.

Historical context
Dohuk was one of the key cities included in the Kurdish autonomy zone formed after the Gulf War and the Kurdish uprising in 1991. As a result of international pressure and military intervention, a security zone protected by coalition forces was created. This allowed the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to begin its path to autonomy.

The liberation of Dohuk became a symbol of the Kurdish national struggle for self-determination and an important step in the formation of modern administrative structures in the Kurdistan Region.
