World Voice Day is celebrated annually on April 16. This day is designed to raise awareness of the importance of the voice as a tool for communication and self-expression, as well as to draw attention to the health of the vocal cords and the protection of the voice.

World Voice Day was initiated in 2002 at the suggestion of the International Society of Speech and Language Therapists (ISLHA) and is celebrated in more than 30 countries.

Main goals and objectives
Education and awareness. To draw public attention to the importance of proper voice use and protection, and to disseminate information about vocal cord diseases and their treatment methods.

Disease prevention. To discuss measures to prevent diseases of the vocal apparatus and to teach people the correct techniques for vocal communication.

Support for professionals. To support professionals who use their voice daily in their work by providing them with information on how to maintain the health of their vocal cords.

How World Voice Day is celebrated
Educational events. On this day, seminars, lectures and master classes are held on speech technique, voice care and health.

Social media campaigns. Many organizations and professionals use social media to spread information about the importance of the voice and how to protect it.

Concerts and performances. Singers and artists hold special events aimed at drawing attention to voice health issues.

Information materials. Booklets, articles and videos are distributed containing advice on voice care and its proper use.
