Invention Day is celebrated in Japan every year on April 18. This holiday is dedicated to honoring inventors, their achievements, and the role of innovation in the development of society and technology. April 18 was chosen to commemorate the day the first Japanese patent law was registered in 1885. This law became the basis for protecting intellectual property in the country.

How Invention Day is Celebrated
Exhibitions and Demonstrations. Science centers and museums host special events to showcase inventions created by Japanese scientists and engineers.

Competitions. Competitions are organized for schoolchildren and students to stimulate interest in inventive activity.

Lectures and Seminars. Experts talk about the role of patents and the importance of protecting intellectual property.

Educational Programs. Schools and universities hold lessons and lectures on the importance of innovation for the future.
