International Non-Binary People's Day
July 14, Sunday
International Day of Non-Binary Visibility is observed annually on July 14th and is dedicated to raising awareness of non-binary people and their unique gender identities. The holiday was created to give a voice to people whose gender identity does not fit into the traditional binary categories of “man” and “woman” and to draw attention to their rights, challenges, and achievements.Non-binary people are those whose gender identity falls outside the binary gender division. They may identify as:
Agender (without a gender);
Bigender (identify as male and female at different times);
Genderqueer (mix or reject gender categories);
Genderfluid (gender identity can change);
Or other terms that best describe their experiences.
Non-binary is a wide range of gender identities, and each non-binary person may express their identity in their own way.
