International Day of Action for Women's Health is observed annually on May 28. This day is dedicated to protecting women's health rights, especially in the area of sexual and reproductive health, and aims to raise awareness of the challenges women face around the world.

History of the day
In 1987, during the International Women’s Health Meeting in Costa Rica, the Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) and the Latin American and Caribbean Women's Health Network (RSMLAC) declared May 28 as the International Day of Action for Women's Health. Since then, the day has become an annual opportunity for activism and to draw attention to women’s health issues.

Goals and objectives
The main goals of this day include:

* Raising awareness about issues related to women’s sexual and reproductive health
* Combating discrimination and violence against women
* Promoting women's right to access quality healthcare
* Supporting initiatives aimed at improving women's living conditions, especially in developing countries

This day serves as a reminder of the need for ongoing efforts to defend women’s rights and improve their health worldwide.
