National Guard Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a public holiday celebrated annually on January 10. This day is dedicated to honoring the National Guard of Kazakhstan, which plays an important role in ensuring public order, maintaining law and order, combating crime, protecting state facilities and participating in emergency response.History of the National Guard of Kazakhstan
The National Guard was created on January 10, 1992, shortly after Kazakhstan declared its independence in 1991. This time required the creation of a national structure that could guarantee internal security and stability in the country. In accordance with the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan, a paramilitary structure was formed to protect the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, ensure order and security in the country.
Main tasks of the National Guard
The National Guard performs a wide range of tasks related to the internal security of the state:
Protection of public order. Participation in maintaining law and order on the streets, during mass events and in any situations requiring prompt intervention.
Fighting crime. Supporting the police and other law enforcement agencies in preventing and investigating crimes, as well as participating in anti-terrorist operations.
Protection of strategic facilities. Ensuring the protection of important government facilities, such as government buildings, infrastructure facilities and other critical structures.
Participation in emergency response. The National Guard actively participates in operations to eliminate the consequences of natural and man-made disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, fires and others.
Patriotic education and training. Organization of training programs and training for personnel, as well as active participation in the patriotic education of young people.
Festive events
In honor of the National Guard Day, Kazakhstan hosts various events aimed at recognizing the contribution of guardsmen to maintaining security and stability:
Ceremonies. On this day, ceremonial events are organized with the participation of government officials, leaders of the National Guard and representatives of the army, where guardsmen are presented with awards and certificates of honor for their service.
Parades and demonstrations. In some cities, parades and demonstrations of military skills of guardsmen are organized, where they show their professional skills in the field of defense, tactics and work with weapons.
Patriotic events. Lectures, film screenings and other events dedicated to the history and activities of the National Guard are organized in educational institutions and military units.
