Russia and the CIS countries. In Russia and some countries of the former USSR, Railwayman's Day is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday of August.
Modern traditions. Festive events include awarding the best workers, holding ceremonial meetings, as well as parades and concerts.
On this day, railway workers and their families gather for picnics and corporate events.
Belarus. In Belarus, Railwayman's Day is also celebrated on the first Sunday of August, maintaining traditions similar to those in Russia.
Ukraine. In Ukraine, this holiday has been moved to the second Sunday of August. Its celebration is associated with the professional recognition of railway workers, their contribution to the development of the economy and transport.
Moldova. In Moldova, Railwayman's Day is celebrated on October 30.
Poland. In Poland, Railway Workers' Day is celebrated on November 25 in honor of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the patron saint of railway workers.
