World Maritime Day is an annual international holiday celebrated on the last Thursday of September. It was established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to draw attention to the importance of maritime transport, its impact on the global economy and issues related to maritime safety, protection of the marine environment and sustainable development.

Goals and Objectives
Raising awareness of the safety of maritime transport. Maritime transport plays a vital role in world trade, transporting goods, raw materials and energy resources.
Preservation of the marine environment. Particular attention is paid to the protection of marine ecosystems from pollution caused by human activities, including transport ships.
Development of sustainable shipping. In recent years, emphasis has been placed on the introduction of technologies and practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce harmful impacts on the environment.
Ensuring fair working conditions for seafarers. International treaties and regulations regulate the working conditions of seafarers to protect their rights and ensure safety.

World Maritime Day is celebrated globally through:
