World Accreditation Day is celebrated annually on June 9. It was established in 2008 jointly by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation in building trust in the quality of products, services, and management systems.

Importance of accreditation
Accreditation is the formal recognition of the competence of organizations that conduct conformity assessment, such as testing and calibration laboratories, certification bodies, and inspection bodies. It plays a key role in ensuring confidence in test and certification results, supports product safety, facilitates international trade, and contributes to achieving sustainable development goals.

* 2021: Accreditation's role in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals

* 2024: Empowering tomorrow and shaping the future
