The Sultan of Johor's Birthday is an important public holiday celebrated in Malaysia, especially in the state of Johor. It is held annually on 23 March in honour of the reigning Sultan.

The current reigning Sultan of Johor is Ibrahim Ismail bin Sultan Iskandar, who ascended the throne in 2010. The Sultan is actively involved in the development of his state and supports numerous charitable and social projects.

Holiday Traditions
The celebration is accompanied by a number of ceremonial events:

Official Ceremonies. A ceremonial meeting is held in the Sultan's palace with the participation of government officials, representatives of the army and the local elite. Congratulations are heard from high-ranking officials.

Awards. On this day, the Sultan presents honorary awards and titles to citizens who have made significant contributions to the development of Johor.

Festive Events. Public festivities, concerts, fairs and sports competitions are organised. Major cities in the state, such as Johor Bahru, host a colourful parade.

Charity events. The Sultan's birthday is traditionally marked by events to support those in need, including food distribution and financial aid.
