Who was Rose of Lima
Rose of Lima (born Isabel Flores de Oliva, 1586–1617) was born in Lima, Peru. She was known for her deep faith, asceticism, and care for the poor. Rose spent her life in prayer, self-denial, and service to those in need. In 1671, Pope Clement X canonized her, making her the first saint born on the American continent.
