Flag Day of the Republic of Poland is celebrated annually on May 2. This day was established in 2004 in honor of the Polish national flag and symbolizes pride and respect for Polish traditions, history and statehood.The flag of Poland consists of two horizontal stripes: the upper white and the lower red. These colors have been adopted as the official symbols of Poland since 1831 and have since become an integral part of Polish identity.
The white color represents peace and purity.
The red color symbolizes courage and the blood shed in the fight for freedom and independence.
Festive events
