History of the holiday
The date of April 6 was chosen in honor of the day of the creation of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), which was established on April 6, 2002. ABW was created as a result of the reform of the intelligence services after the dissolution of its predecessor, the State Protection Office (UOP), which had been operating since 1990.
