Solidarity and Freedom Day - Polish public holiday, celebrated every year on August 31 on the anniversary of the August Agreements, established to commemorate the historic uprising of Poles to freedom and independence in 1980, which initiated the process of the fall of communism and the liberation of the peoples of Central and Eastern Europe.
