Serbian Statehood Day is celebrated on February 15 and is one of the most important national holidays in Serbia. This day has deep historical roots and symbolizes the struggle of the Serbian people for independence and statehood.

History
February 15 was chosen as the day when the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire, led by Karadjordje (George Petrovic), began in 1804. This uprising became the basis for the formation of the modern Serbian state. Also on February 15, 1835, the first Serbian constitution was adopted, which was an important step towards the establishment of democratic governance.

Celebration traditions
Ceremonies. Various official events are held on this day, including military parades, ceremonial meetings and cultural events. Citizens gather in squares and at monuments to pay tribute to the heroes fighting for freedom.

Prayers and services. Many churches hold special services dedicated to this day, celebrating the importance of freedom and independence.

Patriotic events. Exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events are organized throughout the country, showcasing Serbia's rich cultural heritage.
