Air Defense Aviation Tasks and Functions
The main task of the ADF aviation is to protect Russia's airspace from any threats, including aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and ballistic missiles. The functions of the ADF aviation include:
Interception and destruction of air targets. ADF aviation units must quickly respond to threats by intercepting and destroying enemy objects penetrating the airspace.
Airspace patrol. Regular flights to monitor the air situation and prevent unauthorized intrusions.
Escort of strategic facilities. AD aviation can also escort important strategic facilities, both military and civilian.

Ceremonial events. On this day, award ceremonies are held for distinguished servicemen, medals are presented, and letters of gratitude are given for professional merits.
Memories of heroes. As part of the celebration, meetings of Air Defense Forces aviation veterans are held, as well as memorial events in memory of those killed in the line of duty.
Training and demonstration flights. In some regions, training or demonstration flights may be organized to demonstrate the power of Air Defense Forces aviation and its readiness to perform combat missions.
