Electronic Warfare Specialist Day is celebrated in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation annually on April 15. This professional holiday was established by decree of the President of Russia in 2006 and is dedicated to military personnel working in the field of electronic defense and counteraction.

History and meaning of the holiday
Creation of electronic troops. Electronic warfare became an important part of modern military strategy in the first half of the 20th century, when the development of radio and radar technologies made it possible to effectively control troops and detect the enemy.
In the USSR, electronic warfare units began to form in 1943, which is due to the need to counter German control and communication systems.

Establishment of the holiday. Official recognition of the Day of the Electronic Warfare Specialist emphasizes the contribution of these units to ensuring the security of the country.
The date of April 15 was chosen in connection with the history of the creation of the first electronic warfare units.

Holiday traditions
Ceremonial events. The units hold ceremonial parades, where the command congratulates the personnel. The best specialists are awarded with honorary certificates, medals and other distinctions.
