International Volunteer Day is celebrated annually on December 5. This day was established in 1985 by the United Nations General Assembly and serves to promote volunteer activities, recognize the contributions of volunteers, and draw attention to important social issues they help address.

Creating opportunities for engagement. International Volunteer Day is also used to create new opportunities for volunteering and support organizations working in this field.
