World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated annually on 10 November. This day was established by UNESCO in 2001 to highlight the importance of science in modern society and the need to use its achievements for the well-being of humanity.

Goals and objectives
Strengthening the interaction between science and society. The day helps draw attention to the role of science in everyday life, raising awareness of its achievements and challenges.

Promoting sustainable development. Scientific research plays a key role in solving global problems such as climate change, preserving biodiversity, access to clean water and energy.

Promoting peace. Science should be used for peaceful purposes, promoting dialogue and cooperation between countries.

Promoting access to science. Particular attention is paid to ensuring equal access to scientific knowledge, especially in developing countries.

Events
Conferences and seminars. Scientists, politicians and public figures discuss important issues of scientific development.

Educational initiatives. Lectures, exhibitions and master classes are held to popularize science among young people.

UNESCO programs. Include support for scientific research and knowledge exchange at the international level.
