Day of the Uprising Against the Occupying Forces
April 27, Sunday

Historical background
On April 6, 1941, Slovenia, then part of Yugoslavia, was occupied by Nazi Germany and later by the fascist regimes of Italy and Hungary. In response, on April 26, 1941, the Anti-Imperialist Front was established in Ljubljana, which was later renamed the Liberation Front of the Slovenian People. This organization became the foundation of the partisan resistance movement against the occupiers.
