History and Origin
World Wetlands Day is celebrated on the day of the signing of the Ramsar Convention, which was adopted on February 2, 1971 in the city of Ramsar, Iran. This international agreement is aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands, as well as the protection of habitats for numerous species of animals and plants.

How is World Wetlands Day celebrated
Educational campaigns. On this day, events are organized to inform the public about the importance of wetlands and how to protect them. Lectures and seminars are held in schools and universities.

Environmental campaigns. Environmental campaigns such as tree planting, water purification and ecosystem restoration are held in different countries.
