Characteristics of Kurdish Traditional Dress
Kurdish clothing varies depending on the region, but in general it is characterized by the following elements:
The male costume usually consists of a shirt, loose pants, a vest and a scarf that is tied at the waist. Wide pants called "shalvar" and headgear are also usually included.
The female costume includes a long dress, often decorated with embroidery, beads and sequins. A vest or cape may be worn over the dress. The traditional headdress also plays an important role and is decorated with gold coins and other elements.
