The Day of Communications Troops in Ukraine is celebrated on August 8th. This holiday was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine on February 1, 2000, to honor the important role of communication troops in ensuring communication and coordination within the armed forces. It is highly significant for military personnel who manage the technical support and maintenance of communication systems, which are critical for the successful execution of military operations and command of troops.

The history of communications troops in Ukraine dates back to World War I, and their role has only grown with Ukraine's independence, particularly with the establishment of the Main Communications Directorate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 1992.

The holiday is held to recognize the contribution of communications specialists to the country's defense, including in modern combat conditions, where reliable communication is a vital element for ensuring security and successful coordination on the frontlines.
