Poetry reading. On this day, people gather to read Shevchenko's works, the most famous of which are "Zapovit" ("Testament"), "Katerina", "Kavkaz" and others.
Exhibitions and lectures. Exhibitions of his paintings, manuscripts and portraits are organized, as well as lectures and seminars dedicated to his life, literary heritage and contribution to culture.
Laying flowers at monuments. Monuments to Taras Shevchenko, erected throughout Ukraine and in other countries, become places for laying flowers and holding rallies.
Concerts and performances. Theaters host productions dedicated to his works, as well as musical concerts, and songs based on his poems are performed.
