Sanitary and Epidemiological Workers Day in Ukraine is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of October. This holiday is dedicated to professionals working in hygiene, sanitation, and epidemiological surveillance.

History of the holiday
The holiday was established to recognize the important role of sanitary and epidemiological specialists in protecting public health and preventing infectious diseases. Workers in this field monitor the quality of water, food, air, and working conditions, as well as detect and prevent outbreaks of infections.
