Tanker's Day in Ukraine is celebrated on the second Sunday of September. This holiday was established in 1997 by decree of the President of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma. Its purpose is to honor the military and veterans of armored troops, as well as workers of defense industry enterprises who design and produce armored vehicles.

Significance of the holiday
This day symbolizes recognition of the role of armored forces in ensuring the country's defense capability. Tank units are traditionally considered among the most powerful within the armed forces, and the holiday emphasizes their importance.
