All-Ukrainian Tuberculosis Day is celebrated annually on March 24. This day is dedicated to World Tuberculosis Day, which was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1993. The purpose of the event is to draw attention to the global tuberculosis epidemic, as well as to remind about the importance of timely detection and treatment of this disease.

This date is associated with an important event in the history of medicine: on March 24, 1882, German scientist Robert Koch announced his discovery of the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which causes tuberculosis. This discovery was an important step in the diagnosis and fight against the disease.
