The Ukrainian Red Cross Society Foundation Day is celebrated annually on April 18. This day is dedicated to the foundation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, which was created in 1918 during the First World War and political transformations in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society was founded to help victims of military actions, famine and epidemics. Initially, it became part of the international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, which is based on the principles of humanity, neutrality, independence and voluntariness.

April 18 is a day that emphasizes the importance of humanitarian work and a reminder that helping your neighbor can save lives. The holiday also serves to express gratitude to the thousands of volunteers and employees who work daily for the benefit of society.
