Malvinas War Veterans and Fallen Day (Day of the Malvinas) is observed on 2 April in Argentina and the United Kingdom to commemorate the events of the Falklands War (also known as the Malvinas War), which took place in 1982.

The Falkland Islands (or Malvinas, as they are known in Argentina) are an archipelago in the South Atlantic that has been the subject of a territorial dispute between the United Kingdom and Argentina. In 1982, the conflict escalated and Argentina, citing historical rights, invaded the islands. The United Kingdom responded with a military operation to regain control of the archipelago. The war lasted for about 10 weeks, and the United Kingdom eventually regained control of the islands.

A total of 649 Argentine and 255 British servicemen were killed in the war. Malvinas War Veterans and Fallen Day has become an important day of remembrance that remembers the victims of the conflict on both sides. In Argentina, the day is known as "Veterans and Fallen of the Malvinas War Day", and is marked by commemorations, flower-layings, and events to remember the dead and show solidarity with the families of veterans.

In the UK, April 2 is also an important date, although it is more often used to commemorate British servicemen who died in combat. In both countries, the day is a reminder of the tragic events of war and the impact such conflicts can have on people's lives, reinforcing the importance of peace and diplomatic solutions.

The Malvinas War remains a sensitive issue for both countries, and the day serves as a reminder of the importance of resolving territorial disputes peacefully.
