Albariño Day is a celebration dedicated to the white grape variety Albariño, which is used to make the refreshing wine of the same name. This grape is mainly grown in the northwest of Spain, in the Galicia region, especially in the Rías Baixas area. Albariño is also common in Portugal (under the name Alvarinho) and in some wine-producing regions of the United States.

Features of Albariño wine:

* aromatic, fruity, with notes of peach, lemon, and flowers
* refreshing and light, ideal for hot summer days
* pairs excellently with seafood, especially oysters and mussels

How it is celebrated:

* in the town of Cambados (Galicia, Spain), the Fiesta del Albariño takes place — a real wine festival that lasts several days
* tastings, wine tours, concerts, and cultural events are held
* wineries and restaurants around the world offer special menus and discounts on Albariño wine
* wine lovers organize home wine evenings, trying different types of this wine

Interesting fact:
Albariño grapes are considered among the most aromatic white varieties in Europe and are often compared to Riesling or Gewürztraminer for their intense aroma.

Purpose of the holiday:
To promote wine culture, support local producers, share the traditions of the Galicia region, and of course, enjoy the taste of one of Spain's best white wines.
