K9 Veterans Day is a holiday dedicated to service dogs who have served in various government agencies, including the military, police, rescue services, and customs. The holiday is celebrated annually on March 13 in the United States, on the day when the first K-9 Corps was founded in 1942.

Celebration Traditions
Remembrance Ceremonies. Many cities in the United States hold events on this day to honor the memory of service dogs who died in the line of duty.

Exhibitions and Parades. Exhibitions and shows are held to demonstrate the skills of service dogs.

Charity Events. Fundraising campaigns are held for organizations that care for service dogs after their retirement.

Awards. In some cases, award ceremonies are held to honor especially distinguished K9s and their handlers.
