Raisins coated with dark chocolate or milk chocolate have their own special day to be honored. March 24 is National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day.
National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day is a day to enjoy this tasty combination of chocolate and fruit.
Raisinets, introduced by the Blumenthal Chocolate Company to the United States in 1927, became very popular among Americans. Today chocolate covered raisins are manufactured by Nestlé, that owned the Blumenthal in 1984, and they are the third largest selling candy in the U.S. history. Not a single movie-goer can imagine watching film without a pack of popcorn or a bag of Raisinets.
